Club Squash (Women’s)

About Us

Georgetown Women’s Club Squash provides a fun, competitive, and welcoming environment for students of all skill and experience levels to learn, train, and grow in the sport of squash. Over the past two years, the team has grown tremendously, progressing from playing its first matches to qualifying for Nationals for the first time. The club is a close-knit community of passionate and driven athletes who support one another on and off the court while competing at a high level. Several major milestones for the team were reached in recent years, including its first College Squash Association (CSA) season and matches against teams such as GWU, Bucknell, Fordham, UNC, Penn, UChicago, and UMD. With a growing roster, committed leadership, and Nationals ahead, Georgetown Women’s Club Squash is continuing to build a strong and competitive presence on campus.

How to Join

Anyone interested in joining the team is encouraged to meet the team at the CAB Fair at the beginning of each semester, follow the club on social media, and reach out to the team to be added to the mailing list. Tryouts are open to all interested undergraduate students, regardless of experience level. However, since roster spots are limited, cuts may be made based on squash experience, athleticism, commitment, and overall team fit, with prior squash experience strongly preferred. The team typically consists of 12 to 15 players.

Time Commitment

Practices are held at Yates Field House three times per week, typically on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Friday afternoons. Practices are approximately one hour each and include drills, match play, conditioning, and games. Practice attendance is mandatory and essential for match eligibility, as consistent participation helps members develop their skills, build team chemistry, and prepare for competition. Members are also expected to participate in matches throughout the season. In addition to regular practices, the team may hold additional training sessions to support player development and competitive readiness.

Dues

Dues will start at $45 per semester per person, which covers transportation, lodging, entry fees, and equipment.

Awards, Recognition, and Championships

Accomplishments include qualifying for Nationals and competing in its first-ever College Squash Association (CSA) season. Notable results from the season include strong wins over Fordham, 8-1, and UMD, 6-3, along with competitive matches against programs such as GW, Bucknell, and UNC. As the team continues to build its presence in CSA competition, Georgetown Women’s Club Squash is proud of the progress it has made and excited to keep growing as a competitive program.
