Club Soccer (Women’s)
About Us
Georgetown University Women’s Club Soccer is a competitive, tight-knit team of undergraduate students who share a love for the game while building teamwork, camaraderie, and a strong team culture. The club competes at the club collegiate level in the US College Club Soccer (USCCS) against teams across the DMV region, including GWU, AU, GMU, Salisbury, and UMD. With a roster of around 30 players, the club competes in the fall to qualify for the regional tournament. In the spring, the club travels to UNC-Chapel Hill to participate in a 7v7 competition.
How to Join
Tryouts are held at the beginning of the fall semester, typically during the first or second week of classes. Interested undergraduate students are encouraged to visit our table at the Council of Advisory Boards (CAB) Fair, where tryout information will be shared. Those unable to attend the fair should email the team to be added to the mailing list. Prior soccer experience is not required, but most players have competed at the high school or club level. While cuts are made, everyone is welcome and encouraged to try out. It is a great opportunity to meet new people, play soccer, and learn more about the team.
Time Commitment
Practices are twice a week on campus, with each practice lasting about an hour and a half to two hours. Because competitions are year-round and the fall semester is the primary season, consistent practice attendance is strongly encouraged to help build team chemistry, improve skills, and prepare for competition.
Dues
Dues are $30 per semester, or $60 annually, per person, which covers tournament fees, transportation, lodging, referees, and equipment.
Awards, Recognition, and Championships
The club competes in a competitive division against teams throughout the DMV area to earn a spot in the regional tournament each year. In fall 2023, our strong performance and standing in the Region I Soccer Conference helped us qualify for the regional tournament in October, highlighting the team’s continued growth and competitiveness.
