Club Basketball (Women’s)
About Us
Georgetown University Women’s Club Basketball represents the University in the Women’s Division of the National Club Basketball Association (NCBBA-W). The team provides women with the opportunity to continue their love of basketball and commitment to the game throughout college in an open, welcoming, and competitive environment. Women’s Club Basketball is a close-knit community that values teamwork, camaraderie, and the lasting bonds formed through the sport. The team practices and hosts games in Yates, competes in away tournaments, and builds connections off the court through social events such as team dinners.
How to Join
The team holds tryouts each fall semester at Yates Field House. Undergraduate students interested in joining should email the club or send a DM to set up a tryout time. The team looks for players who can compete at a high level, bring positive energy, and are committed to helping their teammates improve on the court. Prospective members are encouraged to bring their best effort, a team-first mindset, and, of course, their basketball shoes.
Time Commitment
The club practices twice a week for 1.5 hours. Practices typically include scrimmaging and fast-paced drills designed to build skill, conditioning, and team chemistry. To be considered a full member of the team, members are expected to attend at least one practice per week and participate in at least one game per month.
Dues
Dues are $30 per semester per person, which covers tournament fees, transportation, lodging, and equipment.
Awards, Recognition, and Championships
Recent success has included invitational bids to local tournaments around the region.
