Signature Events

The following are signature events advised or coordinated by the staff of the Center for Student Engagement:

Georgetown Day

Starting in 2000, Georgetown Day is the annual University-wide celebration of our campus community. This all-day event takes place at the end of each Spring semester and is open to all Georgetown students, faculty, and staff. Please reach out to GPB, GPB@georgetown.edu to be on their committee

Midnight Breakfast

Midnight Breakfast takes place each semester during study days at Leo’s and provides an opportunity for students to take a break from studying to enjoy some free, late-night breakfast!

Rangila

Georgetown Rangila, the largest charity dance showcase in the United States, has grown from a small-scale performance with 40 students to a large-scale production featuring 10 acts, 400 students, and a 1,500-person audience. 30 years ago, the showcase began with two key principles in mind: promoting cultural diversity and building an inclusive, accessible space. Since then, the showcase has far exceeded those goals, becoming a diverse creative outlet and a robust homage to South Asian culture.

Saxa Awards

The Center for Student Engagement hosts the Saxa Awards at the end of each academic year. This awards ceremony recognizes and celebrates student leaders, student organizations, and the commitment to student activities and programming. These outstanding students, events, and campus partners are rewarded through the Saxa Awards for their contributions above and beyond the call of duty to programs, leadership, and events sponsored by our office.

Traditions Day

Traditions Day kicks off Homecoming Weekend on the Hilltop. This event takes place on Copley and Healy lawns and celebrates the many traditions of Georgetown University.
