Club Rock Climbing

About Us

Georgetown University Club Rock Climbing provides undergraduates with the opportunity to develop their climbing skills, build a commitment to the sport, and participate in casual team climbs and indoor competitions.

How to Join

Each Fall semester, interested students can attend an information session and participate in a two-week, two-phase tryout process focused on commitment rather than skill level or prior experience. After the tryout period, new members are selected for the team roster. Throughout the year, students are also welcome to climb with the team as at-large members.

Time Commitment

Members climb at the Movement Gym in Crystal City, VA at least twice per week for two hours per session. The club also holds weekly meetings, which typically include club updates, a lesson component, and a casual climbing session with members. In addition, we offer one open practice each week for all club members. Each semester, the team participates in one to two local competitions, all of which are beginner-friendly.

Dues

Dues will be approximately $200 per semester per person, which covers the cost of gym memberships, van rentals, and registration fees.

Awards, Recognition, and Championships

Our team mostly partakes in regular practices and competes a few times a semester, which are our biggest events. We also host outreach programs with affinity groups on campus, like the Georgetown Scholars Program (GSP).
