Club Ice Hockey (Women’s)

About Us

Georgetown Women’s Club Ice Hockey is a competitive ACHA Division II team that represents the University in the Women’s Division of the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League (WACCHL), competing against programs such as UVA, GW, Virginia Tech, and NC State. The team is a tight-knit community committed to growing the game of women’s hockey, developing well-rounded players and people, and representing Georgetown with pride. We welcome members of all skill levels and hockey backgrounds.

How to Join

Georgetown Women’s Club Ice Hockey does not hold tryouts for club membership. Undergraduate students interested in joining should fill out the Player Recruitment Form on our website, send us an email, or visit us at the CAB Fair to get connected. Once you express interest, we will share information about the required forms and next steps for joining the team. We welcome players of all skill levels and hockey backgrounds. The only requirement is that members must be at least 18 years old to participate in the ACHA.

New to hockey? No problem! We have gear available to borrow and are happy to teach new players everything they need to know. Consistent attendance at practices is encouraged to stay involved and continue developing with the team.

Time Commitment

The team practices once a week on Fridays at The St. James Indoor Ice Rink. Members should plan to be available during the afternoon to allow time for travel. Practice attendance is mandatory and highly encouraged for those who want to play during the season. The team also holds off-ice training sessions to support conditioning, development, and team preparation.

Games are typically held on weekends, usually Friday and Saturday nights, with approximately 10 games per year. The team also participates in one tournament in November in Virginia, which includes an overnight stay, and playoffs in February, which may be local or in North Carolina, depending on the season.

Dues

Dues will start at $350 annually per person, which covers transportation, lodging, referee fees, and equipment. (Pricing subject to change).

Awards, Recognition, and Championships

In 2023, just the club’s second year in existence, Georgetown Women’s Club Ice Hockey won the WACCHL Regional Championship in Winston-Salem, NC. That same year, one of our top forwards earned WACCHL Best Offensive Player and Championship MVP honors.

The program has continued to build on that success, with Addison Basile ’26 earning 2025 Goalie of the Year honors. In 2025, Aynsley Kaufman ’23 and Hannah Walsh ’22 were also inducted into the Hall of Fame, recognizing their contributions to the growth and success of the program.
