The following are signature events advised or coordinated by the staff of the Center for Student Engagement:

The Big Hunt

The Big Hunt is an annual, DC-wide scavenger hunt for first year and transfer students. New Hoyas have the chance to explore DC, search for clues, make friends, and win great prizes in this all-day adventure! Past prizes have included dinner at 1789, box seats at the Verizon Center for a Georgetown basketball game, gift cards to Tombs, Baked & Wired, and more. 

Georgetown Day

Starting in 2000, Georgetown Day is the annual University-wide celebration of our campus community. This all-day event takes place at the end of each Spring semester and is open to all Georgetown students, faculty, and staff.

Midnight Breakfast

Midnight Breakfast takes place each semester during study days at Leo’s and provides an opportunity for students to take a break from studying to enjoy some free, late-night breakfast!

Saxa Awards

The Center for Student Engagement hosts the Saxa Awards at the end of each academic year. This awards ceremony recognizes and celebrates student leaders, student organizations, and the commitment to student activities and programming. These outstanding students, events, and campus partners are rewarded throug the Saxa Awards for their contributions above and beyond the call of duty to programs, leadership, and events sponsored through our office. 

The Summit

The Summit is an annual leadership retreat organized by the Center for Student Engagement. Taking place at the beginning of Spring semester, the Summit is a chance for Georgetown students to further develop their leadership skills and interact with their fellow student leaders from across campus.

Traditions Day

Traditions Day kicks off Homecoming Weekend on the Hilltop. This event takes place on Copley and Healy lawns and celebrates the many traditions of Georgetown University.
